Webster Trucks’ heritage dates back to the early 1900’s when it imported the first motor lorries into Tasmania. Like all successful businesses it is crucial to move with the times and embrace constant change. Webster is committed to providing a safe working environment for its employees, contractors and customers and currently undertaking certification to include both OH&S and Environmental Management under its quality assurance program.
Keeping pace with the new products and technologies is a demanding task and Webster has appointed a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the competency development of the workforce. The competency development program is a scheme in partnership with our franchisors of Volvo, Mack and UD Trucks. Similarly Webster is committed to nurturing our young apprentices through the current skills shortage to ensure the industry is supported well into the future.
Webster Trucks is progressively drawing on the synergies of being a division of the Motors Group (since October 2007), with Motors having substantial interests in the motoring industry, including two significant truck workshop/parts/sales outlets at Derwent Park (Hobart) and Connector Park (Launceston). These synergies will further enhance the level of service offered to our customers. The combined operation of Webster and Motors Trucks is by far the largest commercial truck service business in Tasmania. Webster has a long heritage specialising in the heavy duty trucking sector while Motors also services the heavy duty market and offers a full suite of trucks under the Isuzu franchise.
