SCR Solution

Selective Catalytic Reduction - Mack Truck's Solution to Emission Legislation

SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) is a conversion process that introduces a gaseous reductant - Urea, into the exhaust gas to lower dangerous nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter.

Particulate matter is a combination of airborne solids and aerosols (soot) and is one of the most dangerous pollutants in the air we breathe. SCR technology traps particulate matter, burns it and eliminates it from the exhaust.

Smog and soot have been known to contribute to asthma, respiratory problems and heart disease. SCR technology makes emission gases healthier for truckers and the atmosphere.

SCR can save you fuel, reduce driver effort, reduce ongoing maintenance duties and reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Why Selective Catalytic Reduction
It's both scientifically proven and a cost-effective solution. SCR is a reliable technology that does not limit horsepower output.

SCR reduces diesel emissions and improves air quality in accordance with ADR80-03 regulations.

Tried and tested in Europe since 1957, SCR is typically found on large utility boilers, industrial boilers, diesel engines, and gas turbines.  In 2011 Mack Trucks introduced SCR into the product range as the latest emissions solution.
